What would have been a better origin for the titans?
What would have been a better origin for the titans?
Anomalocaris
Nothing?
Nanomachines.

Nothing, 122 was perfect.
But I'll admit when they started bringing up the original titan again later on, and confirming that it was indeed a hallucigenia, I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach. Literally nothing came of that though, so I guess it doesn't matter?
>Ymir gets introduced
>Manga becomes a masterpiece
>Ymir backstory chapter
>Best chapter in the manga
>Ymir gets character assassinated
>The ending is shit and retroactively ruins the story
It was her manga
No explanation.
Ymir just had the ability, and nobody knew why she was different, but because she was different, she was used and abused.
boom, easy.
There's nothing better than hallucigenia. Life pretty much peaked there.
I agree. Should have left whatever Ymir encountered in the tree a mystery. The entire explanation felt like midichlorians.
Well sure but the eventual attempt at an explanation made it worse.
The Devil.
doesn't really matter. everything would be anti climatic without delving with another huge story.
The only reason it was brought up again was so that Zeke could say the meaning of life is just to multiply which felt totally out of character.
"God" at least with that, you can waive all the strange metaphysical bullshit powers the Titans can do with being a gift from an almighty being.
This would have been good if everyone said the origin of the titan curse was scientific and everyone said Ymir came into contact with a mysterious lifeform. Then surprise, it was actually the devil.
Having everyone say Ymir got the curse from the devil and then her actually getting the curse from the devil would have been pretty lame. I like that the worm subverted expectations a little.
space jews
I wanted ymir to be a lovecraftian horror. Something beyond the world that would explain all the bullshit with the titans. Like imagine if the Marlyans were actually right and she was a devil. Eren enters the paths but instead of some bullshit little gi rape slave its this horrifying creature. Some woman that looks exactly how youd imagine the god origin of the titans to look.
But she'd offer Eren exactly what he wanted. Kill all his enemies. Genocide billions of innocent men and women and children.
Eren would realize his desire for freedom ironically made him a slave as she controlled and fucked with him to lead him to her. The King's vow was his way of keeping her away, think of it like Olympic gods overthrowing the titans. Ymir gave humanity the Titan powers and they over threw her. The nine was a way to keep her power separated and split. The great titan was was her losing.
The walls were actually a false safe to activate and attack her if she broke free. Etc etc
So basically Kaguya from Naruto. Sounds like shit but better than we got
>Zeke could say the meaning of life is just to multiply
Wasn't his whole stick about not doing that?
It would be her but more nuanced yeah. Literally anything is better than canon ymir
>oh lol she touched a funny worm and then just chilled in a pocket dimension for no reason
the tree scene was all we needed. She came into contact with something inside a tree. There's room for both scientific and supernatural interpretation here.
this but unironically
