Previous: Nezu realized that it was Haine with Shide and that they were well and truly screwed as things stood and so ordered a retreat. Shinpei asked about Nagumo just as Shide flung a knife at him though Shadow Mio caught it, saving him. Something then seemed to spook Haine and she told Shide that they needed to retreat for the time being. Shinpei took Totsumura's gun and was ready to loop but Shadow Mio stopped him just as he pulled the trigger, telling him that he knew his looping ability was at its limit right now. Nagumo then pleaded with Shinpei to free Haine from Shide's influence and bring back her original personality before sending Ryuunosuke to Shinpei. With that done and no chance of being revived with another loop, Nagumo passed away.
Later that afternoon, Shinpei stood on the beach as it rained and was approached by Seidou who told him that Nagumo's body was being stored underground. He stated that due the giant stab wound in her chest they wouldn't be able to cover it up as an accident and that her high profile meant that press would swarm the island. Shinpei told him to hold out on releasing anything for a day. At the same time, Sou complained to Nezu about Shinpei always trying to shoulder everything on his own while Mio, Tokiko and Totsumura wondered how they could win.
Back at the beach, Shinpei wondered the same thing when Shadow Mio pointed out the seashell in his pocket. Shinpei figured it was a small remaining fragment of Ushio and Shadow Mio said that she must have transferred her memories into it before disappearing and that Haine mistook that as her still being alive. However, the memories were encrypted and the only person who could read them is now gone. Shinpei realized that on the 24th, Ushio appears at the beach during the festival. If they could just get her to scan the shell, then Ushio would come back to them.
