You just have to come to terms with the fact that most anime fans are clueless vapid idiots with no taste, and they will never put the least amount of effort into exploring the meduim they claim to care about
Elitism pill
But why would I care about what other people think or watch?
I do feel elitist over people who obsess over muh seriousness stuff like Patlabor 2, Monster, Homunculus, etc. Not that I don't like those (besides maybe Monster, it's been a while since I read that) but they're not perfect, despite so many fags on Any Forums believing they are.
monster drags out too long and the ending was so flat
Name an anime that's perfect
I'm fine with elitism, it's just that most elitist have shitty bland taste and are praising the wrong things. Legend of the Galactic Heroes is fucking garbage and shouldn't be consider the height of this audiovisual medium.
You sound like the type of person to say The Godfather is bad because it doesn't have cinematogrophy like Tarkovsky's mirror.
if you think liking Patlabor/monster, etc... makes you an elitist or smarter than another user then that's laughable, you're a kid.
Little Witch Academia is better than this.
Elitism is a phase you grow out of when you mature and understand more about art
Hidamari Sketch
Not him but while I do like the Godfather I also think there are tons of movies better than it and I think people who consider it the best movie ever made need to watch more movies.
Attack on titan
Except both The Godfather and Mirror look good and go for different things. Legend of the Galactic Heroes looks shoddy for the majority of its run. Only the movies stand out as looking nice. It was made over a decade and by the time it ended Princess Mononoke and End of Eva were changing the game while it remained a niche little fossil of otaku bullshit. Like a fetus crawling out of a time capsule. There is zero excuses for the visual mediocrity of an OVA series. It had no impact on the form, no impact on the people in the industry and no impact on the medium. It did nothing.
>You just have to come to terms with the fact that most anime fans are clueless vapid idiots with no taste
I couldn't care less i understand that you are a insecure faggot who thinks he's smart because you checked some top 10 list compared to some 15 year old
I see people talk like this on tiktok after they watch monster for the first time. Congrats op, you're on tiktok level
Ojamajo Doremi
How many posts about Belladonna of Sadness have you seen on tiktok?
>ended Princess Mononoke and End of Eva were changing the game while it remained a niche little fossil of otaku bullshit
Logh was not interested in changing the game, it only wanted to adapt the books faithfully, leave the cunematogrophy for satoshi kon.
A work is more than the sum of its parts.
cringe. I fucking hate this everything is subjective loosey goosey shit.
There are core fundamentals, that are unmovable that everyone should agree on, with the edges being a fuzzy, that can be left for interpretation. I fucking hate when subjectivity is used as a blanket statement to censor, and not even hear out argument.
Also you don't really grow out of it, you just lost interest and stopped caring.
>There are core fundamentals, that are unmovable that everyone should agree on
not the other user but if we're talking about what everyone agree on, One piece is the best manga ever and Naruto/dragon ball the best anime.
subjectivity is something you learn to appreciate when you're over 25 years old.

Damn that's a lot of projection, you made up an argument in your head and then responded to it and also added an insult for some spice
Everything involving art is subjective.
However these subjective feelings are influenced by things that are a common factors in a lot of people, which is why it is still good to talk about what one like and why.
Might as well call this a hipster thread.
It's like calling book fans who don't read classic books vapid idiots with no taste. You are the clown here for assuming that everyone should want to spend exponentially more time consuming things they initially didn't have much interest in just for them to experience a more entertaining story. If a story made you invested and reflect on your situation, it fullfilled it's role and you can go work on your goals now instead of wasting time trying to find the next thing that will flash your mind. Anime fans are mainly teenagers so they will get flashed by stories that may not hold much meaning beyond short entertainment, but if that's enough for them then those anime fullfilled their roles. If they need more than that, they can always find it.
The worst people are those who watch anime for it's own sake and don't even really get anything from the story in front of them and just waltz through an arbitrary list of THE BEST ANIME OF ALL TIME just so they can have a "more refined" opinion. If that's you please get a life or at least make this into your profession so that all those hours aren't completely wasted and you can enlighten your 5000 youtube followers with your refined taste.
Holy newfag. Most of Any Forums accepted this over a decade ago, it’s just the shonenspic tourists who are delusional regarding this fact.
