I like Gintama, but I don't find all of it funny all the time like some other people seem to. I mostly just find it fun and endearing, and some of the more absurd gags as well as character stuff can make me laugh out loud. Generally dislike like the kind of comic relief that some shows have, like KnY.
The most consistently funny shows for me are the ones with a smug/bratty but cute character, like Umaru, Uzaki and Usagi (weird how their names are similar). For some reason I just love that annoying kind of character type and I think it's hilarious, maybe it appeals to the side of me that likes to poke fun and not take things too seriously.

Kyuuketsuki Sugu Shinu episode 4 is a great example of humor that works universally. There's foreshadowing to the punchline with a great payoff at the end.
