Are any of these worth catching up on?
Are any of these worth catching up on?
I genuinely find WW and HSF enjoyable. JJK is a slog, just wait to catch up until the current arc is ending.
Witch Watch is fine, it's nowhere as good as Sket Dance but if you want a light romcom it's decent. I only read it for Catguya.
HSF is the funniest comedy series in Jump, and a damn good sports manga
JJK is the only battle shonen worth reading in the (physical) magazine currently if you can't stand Wano anymore like me.
Chainsaw man clone in the middle.
Do you not count Sakamoto and UndeadUnluck as battle shounen? I think those are also worth reading.
JJK is fujobait with zoomer sensibilities, haven't read the other two
OP here.
Well, Roboco was better on the second read, maybe WW and HSF will be too.
From what I've been seeing of JJK, I'm inclined to agree with first post for the most part. Every now and then I catch glimpses of something, but for the most part it's just a boring slog.
I had to drop Undead Unluck not long ago, because it's just gotten too insane. It makes Chainsaw Man and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure look normal. The power system has always been confusing, and lately there's been a lot of escalation. And why the hell is there a second Undead (just with a different name)? I can't even really keep track of what goes on in that series anymore.
Witch Watch is really comfy and the girls are cute while High School Family is legit the best sports manga out right now
Witch Watch is unironically the bset thing on jump right now, sakamoto close second.
I completely forgot about Sakamoto while writing that because it doesn't even register as a battle shonen to me, but yeah SD is pretty good too
I dropped UxU during the mangaka arc, couldn't stomach it anymore
you can know instantly someone hasn't read JJK when they say it is for zoomers
MHA and BC are the zoomer series since they're just Naruto clones
JJK is the only battle shonen currently that feels like old school shonen since there's no sentimentality, no "muh nakamas" or constant tearjerkers and sob stories
it is just a 100% pure, honest battle manga
High School Family is the best manga on WSJ right now, the current arc has me gripped harder than anything on the entire magazine.
With JJK I'd probably say give it a few more weeks, the culling game is picking up but we still don't have that payoff yet
>ww
sket dance with magic
>hsf
funny
>jjk
just another yokai battle manga
Glad I'm not the only one who dropped UU, got way too tiring to read.
I used to like reading UU but I just go through it nowadays, I don't think it's bad though, it's still fine.
Mashle on the other hand is completely terrible, I don't understand how anyone can stand such horrible writing, and the same thing repeated over and over again.
no
My issue with UU is that it never took enough time to build anything properly
the author burnt through multiple plot points, characters and concepts like he was fucking speedrunning his own manga
I dropped UU ages ago but I assume he is wanting to reset the universe and start the series again
Witch Watch is my replacement weekly gagbowl now that Magu is dead.
The plot of UU isn't hard to follow. They are trying to prevent God from making them loop and adding new rules to fuck up the world.
I do agree, it's somewhat better now, but I remember when Billy betrayed them and all I could of was, "Who the fuck is Billy?"
It's still not great though, we got a new villain to rival Andy and I have no idea who he is.
High School family is really Good
