I hate this scene. I know its supposed to mirror similar moments where the SHs defiantly stated that Luffy will become PK, but in this case the context is completely different.
Nami is given the choice to be spared if only she denounced Luffy, but even then she is unwilling to do so. She does not allow herself to disclaim her gospel even if it means she will die.
This is no longer friendship, but cultish behavior. She treats Luffy not like her buddy, but like her deity. It's creepy, sick and fanatic. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I can no longer view the Straw Hats as a group of friends. They are a cult of Luffy worshippers. I hate the prophecy. I hate Luffy's magical charisma which makes people love or respect him way before he earned it.
