Is Kimetsu no Yaiba prove that you can turn literally any shonen anime into a mainstream hit if you just put an immense amount of reseources into its adaptation? This entire thing is just getting carried by animation at this point. And its working.
Is Kimetsu no Yaiba prove that you can turn literally any shonen anime into a mainstream hit if you just put an immense...
shit manga
shit anime
Yes, ufotable carried that shonentrash on its massive balls. But also what his guy said
Stop making threads
Animation alone is not enough to carry a show. See: princess connect reSHIT
What would you do if chainsawman fails to reach demon slayer popularity even if it’s animation is better?
It was already proved when One Punch Man anime came out
It would mean csm is too complicated for the masses. Which would shock me since csm is just more shonen shlock just like kny.
Except one punch man was a subversion and a parody. At least for the first season. It was mocking garbage like kny.
>if the show I like don’t get popular, it just mean it is too complex for the masses to understand
Lol. So you admit animation is not the only factor?
Another cope thread?
I havent read CSM but if it's generic and cookiecutter tier, it will probably get there. If it does some controversial stuff, highly unlikely
Jjk can be consider generic and cookiecutter tier and has great animation and it still didn’t reach demon slayer popularity. Care to explain?
>carried by animation
as well as good direction no anime that gets adapted which has horrible directors survive
>WOW THIS [medium about action and animation] GETS CARRIED BY [really good action and animation]
Why is it such a surprise? The mangaka knew not to sour her story by putting cheap crap in it like artificial lore and worldbuilding into it like Bleach and Naruto. The focus is that demons are evil and humans have to beat them up. No surprises. No plot twists. No political narrative. Just raw action and emotion played straight through. A lot of people get angry and hate on Kimetsu because they don't get this simple concept.
That and it was paced well and didn’t shit the bed. Very few recent shounen series can claim that.
>most anime is shit because it's cheap
so you finally noticed. there's a reason Japan makes 60% of all animation annually, and it's not because the prefer quality to quantity. Oh and something something otaku bubble
Shows like Breaking Bad and GOT were 100 times more complicated than your shonen manga and still achieved mainstream appeal. CSM will fail to become truly popular and you have no one to blame except Fagimoto.
Attack on Titan bros....where are our 157k tweets......
>CSM will fail to become truly popular
>First trailer had 280k retweets despite being a completely new franchise
Cope!
Watch more anime. That theory has been disproven by countless shows.
this could've been Kino Punch....
It did everywhere but Japan, where kny aesthetic is more appealing
>a parody
lol it wishes
Thats moeshit, moeshit never gets mainstream, no matter how well animated it is, because only losers and niche audiences care about moeshit. However, animation CAN carry shonen anime.
It shit the bed it's final arc.
pretty sure japanese zoomies are just socially stunted and like the weird incest bondage fetish shit going on with the sister
No. We've had countless series that were animated incredibly well but failed to pick up a following. And Kimetsu's success in Japan goes way beyond mere "mainstream hit." This thing ended two years ago and is still in the top 10 weekly sales charts.
The hard truth of it is that despite it being narratively simple, KnY manages to tap into themes and aesthetics that resonate with people. The action is incredibly visceral and well paced. There's basically zero filler. The characters are likeable (and yes, Zenitsu is included under that umbrella- he's literally the most popular character in Japan). And the overall message of coming to terms with mortality and valuing kindness is a universally accepted message that was delivered comprehensibly through Gotouge's work.
You can argue that the narrative tricks it uses are familiar (kill demon -> sad backstory -> move on), but ultimately the execution still incites the emotion required to attach readers to the series. If it didn't work for you personally, that's fine. But you're insane if you think that the series has nothing to offer to the vast majority of people aside from Ufotable's animation.
No. What a dumb question. Almost offensive how stupid this question is.
>MHA had great animation
>Became mainstream
>One Punch Man had great animation
>Became mainstream
>KnY had great animation
>Became mainstream
>Jujutsu Kaisen had great animation
>Became mainstream
>Chansaw man will have great animation
>Will become mainstream
It really just is that simple. It's so obvious.
JJKsisters... why are we so insecure...
You're being too reductive. It's not worth talking to you about this
>One Punch Man S2 had shit animation
>immediately fell out of mainstream
kek
