Anyone else watched this after the disappointment of SnK and ended up enjoying it way more?
Is it dead after the movie or are we getting a Season 2?

Why would you want a season 2, the story is pretty well rounded up. Anything new would just be a pale in comparison.

The movie is described as the middle volume so of course we'll get more content. The manga's already finished though since it only adapted the TV anime which is the original source material.

If they do continue, hopefully they stay away from making humans the villains. Series works better with the kabane like the Unato movie showed. If they need an intelligent threat, just make the virus intelligent.
