An anime would be pretty cool, I don't think DM would be very hard to animate. Sure there's a lot of monster designs, but most of them are simple and based off common things like quadrupeds or birds. There's not a lot of visually impressive action scenes. It'll be mostly a job of picking the right VA for the group, and making sure the food looks tasty. Throw in som extra monster tidbit after the ED and you can call it a day.

There hasn't been a good fantasy anime in years. All of the monsters would be CG shit and there would be a bare minimum effort put into it.

No. Between QUALITY problems, cutting good story/plot/character dialogue for time to fit 22-24 minute episodes, filler due to the manga not being finished, the big problem with more and more shows these days being basically just slide shows with minimal animation to save budget for bigger scenes I think DM would end up being a mediocre anime.

Think about Berserk 2016, Overlord 2 and 3, isekai spider. I'm not willing to risk YET ANOTHER series I love to be treated that way. Imagine watching any scene with a monster and its Overlord tier CGI. Imagine the dragon/dragfalin being CGI. The manga has great flow and pacing, art, gags, characters etc., it really doesn't need an anime at all.
Like 1% chance. Kui seems to have a clear direction for this series so it would be pretty incredible to see her fuck it up in the last lap. Decent chance it its a melancholic ending though, I remember other Anons saying most of her other work finished that way.
