Life doesn't go always as you expect, that shit was clear the moment Kaido fell from the sky when Kid tried to make that alliance.

They're all the same power level, when Luffy beats the one hyped as the World's Strongest then he surpasses them all.
Blackbeard is a different matter. He is not a traditional Yonko and instead another quickly growing rookie like Luffy. BB has the potential to surpass Kaido, surpass Primebeard and offer Luffy a challenge beyond the Yonko level so he can reach Roger status.
