I also finished reading this recently, and while Itsuki did hold a lot of main girl winner flags early on, I didn't think Yotsuba had no chance at the start. While Miku and Ichika had the main arcs in the first few volumes and Itsuki had the main girl moments, Yotsuba did have her one-off dedicated chapters in between the bigger arcs. Chapter 21 was pretty impactful since it came out of nowhere.
