If you somehow hadn't noticed yet, Theo and Tifa's parents are probably dead\ rather than deadbeats.

wasnt Theo refereed as orphan once? I think it was pretty obvious

We'll wait years for this flashback, but how Little Tifa here and Theo got together is going to be a gutpuncher I just know it.

I've learned never to overestimate the intelligence of the average user. Or anyone on the internet really.

100% guarantee the elves killed the parents because the hatred over the attempted genocide and race traitors is strong and powerful

the most unrealistic part of this manga is that Theo isn't a siscon

Depends on which end of the continent she was on, 9 year olds can't walk very far or very fast.

This illiterate 12-15yo girl is spitting wisdom that some adults could not articulate to a child.

I love the author for how well she has people frame life advice because not only does she focus on the harsher realities like a lot of factors that influence our lives are determined before we're even born. But stuff like this. Theo is at a crossroad but he only got here because he was pushed, and pushed himself to experience hardships and overcome barriers. Even if he fails the exam he can take it again or settle down at home and become something else. He's got a lot of potential but only because he took the time to build skills that opened those doors.

my heart
yep that's a common theme in many works
She can't compete with the Li
This page works as a metaphor for him overcoming the wormwood too
She really does tackle stuff like this beautifully. I've had similar notions conveyed to me growing up by hard working less educated relatives and it really resonates. Especially the subtle anger here ().

And there it is. What a spread.

You've probably seen this in a OPT at least once.

Just look at this angel, even her angry face is 10/10

I have never liked these kind of designs for furry characters, the weird mix of human anatomy and animal just look weird and uncanny.

thank you so much. This is great!

thanks OP, I actually hope Theo doesnt forget about all the people of his town and actually visit or something

no... think of the copyright holders!!

Religion is a big hot topic in Magus world (pic from Eden)

I just want to say that I started reading this after seeing these threads and it's basically better than 98% of all the shit I have ever read in manga.
And I been in this shit for 20 years now

What a slut

Just look at this chad, if her imagination turns even half true he will flood whole villages with those (b/l)ooks.

she wanted to be flooded alright

I have nothing to add to this sequence. My heart strings were plucked and that is all.

Can you really blame her? Just look at THAT She knew that those half genes were wasting in Amun.

BEST GIRL

>still sleep with his big tiddy sister
unf

She doesn't know that he's ripped so thre's also that

>Li
-terature?

probably never visit him while working, wouldnt be surprised if took some clothes off to fight the heat sometimes.

If only Sedona had heard him calling himself a hero, she would cream herself on the spot

spoiler: he is having in a class full of cute girls and completely forgets about her

is she that much of a chuuni?

She really groomed him perfectly

Oh, you'll see. Especially at the last chapter of vol.4

You have no idea user. Buckle up because next volume will be a treat.

;_;

I read every instance of "books" as "boobs". Just wanted you to know.

and just in 2 days

L-Lewd

can i get a tldr on this before I buy it

books

librarians rule the world

Reading is RAD

Sedona is so flat it's kinda annoying to look at

Flat is justice!
Oh wait

Only those who desire children may have the bust

mother of six

Or mother of nine by volume 4.

does that make their libraries brothels or dairies?

I wonder who is the one asking for it, she or her husband

Attached: 1636123303341.gif (500x500, 304.06K)

how does she find the time?
do we know the working hours of kafna? is it 9-5?

She's liasons office IIRC, they probably fuck like rabbits the nights before she sets off again.

>do we know the working hours of kafna? is it 9-5?
So far it's pretty vague and I assume the library has something like a 24/7 staff rotation as out of the departments we know of groups like the Protections office are round the clock security and escort. And I imagine the restoration offices have people constantly at work maintaining texts that pass through the library as well as stuff on the stacks.

I do see the Liason office where mega mom resides being more flexible with responsibilities, and more forgiving towards pregnancy since she could be moved to deskwork as opposed to having to go out on expeditions like in the first volume.

Poor osananajimmy never stood a chance

Attached: 1636824753824.jpg (2133x1519, 1.03M)

She never really try to be honest

She wants it and makes it a point of pride for the hubby to please her more and more

is this harem shit

MC is a charming lad so it's okay

Not yet, the only ones with actual crushes are the comic relief animal and the left behind childhood friend.

you know damn well that a harem is forming

I will keep my hopes of Ohgga being the nonromantic bro character up until the day the author makes it unambiguous.

The seething cuck routine is funny but it'll get old fast if she does it too much.

Since this is the start of the end of the start of Theo (or something), how old do you think he'll be at the climax of the story?
Eighteen? Nineteen?
Thirty?

The calendar has five years left to go on the countdown so probably around eighteen.

I refuse to believe it. It's just aya.

She's greedy but even she can't win against those playboy magnetism.
That water mana affinity just makes the lady wet.

You have to unfuck your brain from haremshit and recognize that Theo's interaction with 99.99% of the female cast is innocent and non-sexual. Even in a series where the number of male characters that have names is like sub-10 Theo is here for the books not the ladies.

At this rate, Ohgga gonna rope her into threesome with Theo as some sort of "cultural exchange"

>Theo is here for the books not the ladies.
>GS only cares about goblin genocide
>Mao Mao only cares about poison
Why are autistic MC soo based?

user...

So is there more on the magic loli in the raws?

I bet Uira is going to turn into a cute magus girl once she gets enough mana from Theo

Attached: 1612710723707.jpg (2146x3056, 2.28M)

Cute emissary of wormwood*

What is wormwood anyways? Whatever they fought, was just an "emissary, what is the actual wormwood

Chapter 25 and 30 have stuff with her IIRC.

he's ripped

Poor Uira

>some people
nobles aren't people

unf

I think Theo/Tei will be a parallel to Tifa/Theo. Makes a lot more sense as a sibling relationship than a romantic one.

Next chapter will begin to actually show what the wormwood wrought.

Isn't it depressing how some students know they will end up being farmers who will never be able to use the knowledge that they gained from school while others are already talking about marriages? Is this how school graduation was like in ancient times?

You mean like how it is modern times? The vast majority of people today don't put any of the knowledge they learned at school to use in their jobs.

I see school more as teaching "common knowledge", the basics of everything soo you will have a rudimentary understanding of daily life and skills with university being the place where you learn the stuff for specific jobs.

in that we agree

>Acat
Is brother is Adog, I gues?

Well, few weebs are aware that Japanese children often sleep in their parents' bed until 6 or 7 years old.

>smart Acat going for the well paid job instead of the wageslave one

What does sleeping on big brown oneesan boobs feel like?

biting yourself to blood sounds painful

>the pomf run

If lips are dry because of climate and not the greatest health and no chapstick or lotion or cooking oil to spare, it can happen pretty easily
Dry climates are not fun :(

maybe, but its probably easier thanks to your teeth, I always wonder how strong does one has to grip a sword or the like to blood, since it quite common to see that in shonen.

>I wanted him to be hung up on me for a while! Ten years, at least!

I'd post that fafnir spread from Rosen Garten, but last time I did some overpaid jannitor got angry

>1 volume per year

>english translation released a year after the japanese one
>most recent japanese release is volume 5
>no word on a release date for volume 6
>new volume realistically is 2023 for EOP.

Attached: 1643209936604.png (500x397, 404.87K)

the end of time is planned for 5 years in the future, we can assume it will correspond to the climax

Attached: THE VOICES.jpg (276x335, 65.58K)

Anyone else here have a feeling that the author's favorite character in Final Fantasy VII is Cloud Strife?

>Eden
you must enjoy suffering, Beserk is a joke in comparison to this

Thanks for the dump like always OP.

Wormwood is a star mentioned in the book of revelations. Going by the whole 'emissary' thing, you have to figure the creature is from outer space

If Sakiya Menes decided to become a full time merchant, then she actually has an excuse to travel to see Theo instead of simply being a librarian.

>Theo has some free time for once
>The girls try to accompanie him to the market or something
>Suddenly, surprise reunion with dear childhood friend
>Cat fight intensifies

Attached: 1611481464002.jpg (500x496, 59.81K)

In fairy tales, you usually have some female royalty or nobility abandon her baby after her family loses a power struggle with a rival political faction. The baby then grows up being unaware of his or her origin, while being raised by somebody else.

However, if you don't want things to get too complicated, Theo's mother could have been cheating on her husband and Theo is the result of an adulterous relationship. There could be many possible scenarios in why Theo was orphaned in the end.

We still do not know the mystery of how dinosaurs such as brontosaurus have sex without physically injuring themselves. Therefore, why can't female dragons have breasts?

Maybe the rakta girl?

has another realistic touch, the people who tried to fuck you over taking credit for your success

>the people who tried to fuck you over taking credit for your success
Didn't the guy tutor him? He was pretty grateful after Theo saved his life

I assume the common development would be that Theo parents were of distinct social classes, no only race, and Tifs being a close servant to whoever of the 2 was noble, once the affair was discovered, shit went down, and Tifa was asked to take Theo away and never return.

The only people to truly support Theo in my eyes, are the masonery troupe, Ganan, Tifa, the childhood friend, and the teacher at the school. The librarian warmed up to him after being saved, but I dont feel the did that much, the other kids, I cant trust them once a bully always a bully.

What about a Romeo and Juliet situation except both parents are still alive but Juliet has to abandon her baby due to her entire clan disapproval and Juliet's father wanting her to marry another man instead of Romeo?

Well, there must be a very good reason why Tifa is traveling with baby Theo deep in the forest and avoiding public roads. Tifa would not need a walking stick at all if she was walking on a flat public road so this leaves us with a big question.

Is Tifa avoiding public roads because of bandits and thieves or assassins? What do you guys think?

>once a bully always a bully
They were little kids. You can't hold it against them.

Yes, that's how he picked out the book back in chapter 7.

Sex with Sedona

Theo please, go back to read erotic noveld

kek

Thats a possibility I guess, but given the whole "elf genocide" probably no going to happen

You just wait, until when he is asked what his ideal girl looks or something, he just end describing his sister without realizing it himself, probably only the white rat thing knowing who he is describing.

I fucking sure I can, little shits

Now, this is certainly novel. The covers of each volume of Magus of the Library have a prominent subscript: “Based on Kafna of the Wind by Sophie Schwimm. Translated by Hiroto Hamada“ they proclaim underneath the title. That piques your curiosity – a English novel, translated into Japanese, adapted into a manga, then re-translated back into English? What a fascinating game of Chinese whispers! It’s like when you run a paragraph through Google Translate ten times consecutively to admire the machine-mangled automatic poetry that emerges out of the other end. It also engages your deeper interest – manga adaptations of English books outside of Holmes, Shakespeare, and whatever else a tourist might pick up on their guided tour of Old London Town are comparatively rare, so if this Kafna of the Wind was prominent enough to break out into foreign audiences halfway across the world, it must have been quite remarkable indeed and this manga is more likely than most to be a good one and worth a purchase.

If you look for the original source material though, that’s where you’ll hit your first snag. Go through the library catalogues, search Amazon high and wide, you won’t be able to loan out or buy a copy of Kafna of the Wind anywhere. Wow, that’s even better – it’s a rediscovered treasure of a rare book that’s been long out of print! That makes the manga even more special, it’s not just a comic it’s a literary rescue mission!

It’s a lovely tale to tell, but as tales go it’s a tall one. You won’t find Kafna of the Wind in any library for simple and more prosaic reason that Kafna of the Wind does not actually exist… the attribution is fake. Sophie Schwimm, Hiroto Hamada, and their book are all completely fictional!

Reminder to everyone here that Mitsu Izumi's Magus of the Library is employing the same technique used by William Goldman in The Princess Bride in case anybody here is still searching for Kafna of the Wind by Sophie Schwimm and translated by Hiroto Hamada, and the technique is called abridgement.

The Princess Bride is a 1973 fantasy romance novel by American writer William Goldman. The book combines elements of comedy, adventure, fantasy, drama, romance, and fairy tale. It is presented as an abridgment (or "the good parts version") of a longer work by the fictional S. Morgenstern, and Goldman's "commentary" asides are constant throughout.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Princess_Bride_(novel)

An abridgement (or abridgment) is a condensing or reduction of a book or other creative work into a shorter form while maintaining the unity of the source. The abridgement can be true to the original work in terms of mood and tone, capturing the parts the abridging author perceives to be most important; it could be a complete parody of the original or it could fall anywhere in between, generally capturing the tone and message of the original author but falling short in some manner or subtly twisting their words and message to favor a different interpretation or agenda.

A written work may be abridged to make it more accessible to a wider audience; for example, to make an adaptation of it as an audio book or a television show, to make a more convenient companion to an already-established work or to create a shorter reference version.

Unabridged is the opposite of abridged. A common example is an unabridged dictionary.

Kukuo is a good boy and entitled to his belly rubs you fucking weasel rabbit.

I don't think you need to do research to figure that one out, buddy.

Take your bets!
Did Uira do something so totally bad and evil to warrant dying as a animal without dignity?
Something fairly awful and wrong but the punishment was just the witch being a psychopath?
Treason against her group?
Wrong place, wrong time, wrong flavor of tea?

The panelling in this series is so beautiful. Slows the pace due to taking up page space for sure, but this stuff that emulates movies and the like really is great

Definitely. His sister being named Tifa may just be a coincidence, but I can't think of any other prominent blonde guy as a protagonist in Japanese media, they're usually all black/brown haired

That doesn't go to say that he's necessarily based off cloud though of course, it's just that the combination of those two things makes it seem likely is all

Huh I remember downloading this one. Only read 1 chapter though.
Wow you guys already have resident autist.

Rather than an abridgement, my assumption was that Magus of the Library shows the true events that Kafna of the Wind is based on since a lot has happened that Sophie couldn't possibly know about. That way it's still "based on Kafna of the Wind", since Kafna of the Wind is itself based on the events that Sophie experienced. It would be pretty weird if what we're reading is a fictionalized retelling of the events that Sophie experienced, i.e., most of it is just shit that Sophie made up to fill in the gaps.
Also, while we are on the topic of metatextuality, there's a book called Sophie's world where Sophie, the MC, realizes she is in a book called Sophie's World. Thought it was a pretty funny coincidence.

In Mitsu Izumi's previous manga, 7th Garden, not only does Awyn Gardener, the male protagonist have blonde hair but his main weapon is a buster blade just like Cloud Strife so it would not be a stretch to assume that Mitsu Izumi is a big Final Fantasy fan.

Everyone but Theo seems to get some real bad vibes from Uira so probably something fairly awful.

It's a land with seven different main languages, and god knows how many different branches and spin offs and spontaneously developed languages have appeared over the years. And systems of writing aside from over the centuries?
The library is a massive headache. Anyone who wants to keep texts from across racial lines is in for one hell of a brain test.
Also dragons and elves have lazy lazy alphabets

The problem with that is that one guy says he's the youngest of nine children and he's already the same age as Theo. So one of the numbers is a typo (6 or 9) or she's one of the sisters that became a kafna and shares a similar temperament to their mother. I'm guessing that their family is just really blessed with fertility.

You try doing fine details with a claw.

the haupi alphabet is modelled on Mesopotamian cuneiform, which is appropriate since they're supposed to have the oldest humanoid civilization

That'd imply there's a clan of women out there keeping their names after marriage and each having a soccer team of kids.

Early Bronze Age: 3rd millennium BC (approximate dates shown). The earliest written literature dates from about 2600 BC (classical Sumerian). The earliest literary author known by name is Enheduanna, a Sumerian priestess and public figure dating to ca. 24th century BC. Certain literary texts are difficult to date, such as the Egyptian Book of the Dead, which was recorded in the Papyrus of Ani around 1240 BC, but other versions of the book probably date from about the 18th century BC.

Doesn't Egypt compete with Sumer for title of oldest human civilization since both civilizations have created ancient literature during the exact same time period yet in 2 different languages?

>Doesn't Egypt compete with Sumer for title of oldest human civilization since both civilizations have created ancient literature during the exact same time period yet in 2 different languages?

Yes, but we think the Sumerians developed civilization slightly earlier(sometime around 3400 BC). Regardless of who came first, though, the point is that Haupis are ancient and they have a script to reflect that.

No one that cute can be evil.

should I read 7th garden?

Only if you're okay with picking up a series that doesn't have an ending. Some anons have griped about it going off the rails quickly too so there's that.

the oldest know civilization was whoever built Golpekli Tepe between 8,000 and 9,500 BCE, and there's a good chance the prot-indo-european language descended from whatever theirs was

This is the ending.
It leads to Mitsu Izumi being much happier with Kodansha, so, oh well what the hell

I feel that 7th Garden ended at a pretty interesting cliffhanger and should 7th Garden ever come back from hiatus, the story will reach its Part 2 Phase and I am looking forward to Mitsu Izumi's take on the Matrix in Part 2 of 7th Garden.

The things we do for love...

Why would that even be a possibility?

I don't think Magus is ending any time soon for 7th garden to come back

I wonder if they have lesbrarians in this series?

It's a workplace with 9 women for every man (besides the support staff) staffed mostly by women looking to get away from the housewife role. Of course there are lesbians in the library.

Fucking demons...
