The story and characters are straightforward, it just happens quickly.
As far as Tominospeak goes it's among the easiest. You don't even have to interpret what characters are saying, just keep track of it.

The only Gundam I've watched so far are a few episodes of Mobile Suit Gundam and all of Turn A. I did not like Mobile Suite, but I very much enjoyed Turn A, even if I'm sure there are references and things I didn't get as well as lacking backstory, I think it worked well as a stand alone.

No. There's literally one scene in the series that might reference some shit you haven't seen for a total of one frame, but you already have all the context you really need. The reason why people say that you have to watch every gundam beforehand is because the series has a certain meta-twist, but it's essentially fanservice and not relevant to the story at all.

You can also include extra information on chart, for example what is considered essential viewing and how they relate, as it's often compiled by fans who know the franchise. I thought it was a great inversion of Zeta - Amuro's arc there was manning up and getting over Lalah with the help of Char, so in CCA the tables are simply turned with disastrous results

One thing people often note about CCA is that it almost completely ignores the existence of Zeta and ZZ.
It's really best taken as a conclusion to the story in MSG.
I'd even argue one could(or even should) go straight from MSG to CCA.
CCA on its own doesn't do a compelling job at convincing you Char's reasons for going back to his ways are completely believable.
However you could also just read into it as Char's tendency to just betray people and lie like he did with Garma and the Zabis in MSG, and in Zeta when he tells Haman he's never betrayed anyone. I think The Origin also helps to reinforce this personality trait of his too. And in a way you could look at Char in CCA as having betrayed us, the viewers as well by conning us into his act during Zeta.

Zeta is definitely there on the background, but its like Char doesnt want to admit it happened but he himself remembers. In specific this scene which is a mirror from Zeta in which Amuro gives char something to drink(but I dont have the screencap).

It's a movie where you can go from 0079 to CCA (because making a movie that requires 140+ episodes of television to make sense isn't a sensible thing to do and even Tomino realizes this) and the movie still makes sense but you get more of the conflict and themes if you are familiar with Z and ZZ.

Funnily enough despite being overall even less relevant to CCA than Zeta is I think the scene near the end of ZZ with Sayla talking to Bright is probably the best on-screen explanation we ever get for Char's behavior in the movie.

I feel like it's going to be a waste of time to explain this to you, but anime is a work that's created by people who have a general idea on how they want the audience to experience things. I guess a postmodernist who denies this can watch anime backwards if he really wants to, but I'm sure anyone with half a braincell would see the obvious problems with this approach and wouldn't probably engage this type of a person in any serious discourse. And anyone with these same cells would probably also tell you that it's silly to think that you've seen a series you didn't bother to watch entirely, still believing you're somehow capable of deducting all the plot- and character beats contextually: no matter how smart you consider yourself to be, you don't regardless have the same experience, and no one is going to fellate you for it.

There's this in which Char arguably receives Kamille's autismo waves as he's getting mindbroken and decides to give up on humanity, but its not canon.

It's really ambiguous on what their final relationship status is. The period setting of the show would justify why they would pose as a married couple to avoid raising questions.

I didn't think the ending was terrible, but it felt very anti-climactic and a bit abrupt.
Bellri just survives long enough to abandon the war and decides to see the world.
I liked that scene with him on Fuji though, it's great.
Some interpretations are that it's like that way on purpose because one theme of G-Reco is "breaking taboos" so having a story end in such an anti-climactic way is the penultimate expression of that.

King Gainer had a similar ending too, I always expected the show to end at the Yapan Exodus' destination, but instead we only see like half the journey.
After talking about it I came to understand why it was ended that way though.

I like G-Reco, I'm not a fanatic about it, but it's a very enjoyable show. But it had weak characters compared to previous Tomino works.
The movies are fixing that a bit by highlighting certain emotional moments and developments more, the show kinda glosses over that stuff.

I wouldn't say G-Reco's story is that bad. It definitely suffers from some glaring flaws especially towards the end of the show, but I think it still had a ton of interesting elements to carry it and made it at least worth the time spent watching it.
The biggest flaw for me was that it doesn't really anchor us in Bellri's perspective and lacked a strong emotional throughline.
Even if people make the argument that "that's the whole point, it's intentional" I still think it weakened the story.
Bellri's taboo breaking and religious past doesn't really cause enough internal turmoil for it to seem important, and his relationship with Aida once it's revealed was pretty anti-climactic and glossed over in the show.
The movies actually made a point to focus more on it with some expanded scenes so that was a nice change to see.

In that final scene you could see it as her death, or maybe she'll wake up the next day and experience another day of comfy cabin life in the woods with Loran.

I wasn't ready for this episode. I heard 'Gundam does Laundry' and I didn't realize it's genuinely one of the best moments in all of Gundam.

I'm watching SEED now and it's so fucking painful coming off of Turn A. I'm 30/50 of the HD remaster (I was told it doesn't matter which one I watched) and I fucking hate Kira and Athrun's 'rivalry' so much. It's so wooden and forced. I don't buy them being childhood friends at all. I only enjoy seeing them kill each others friends, out of some sick twisted joy.

Murrue and La Flaga have good chemistry and I like seeing them together. I have no idea what the Hard Ass bitch is going to be used for, we're 30/50 and if she was more complicated I think they would have shown that now.
Oh and I like Cagalli as well. I also like Flay because her being a huge bitch actually adds interest and drama to a show that DESPERATELY needs it.

To top it off, it's a genuinely ugly show. The colours are so sharp, it's shameful its like this coming off of Scryed which rules and aged really well and does not have the same colour problems.

I'm fighting towards SEED Destiny because I hear its fucking stupid, which makes me excited. I'll take dumb entertaining over boring any day. Also I dont know what happens in it so it'll be a surprise. Like not knowing Code Geass r1's ending.
