This already happened back in the '50s.
There was a new American character in the American release of Godzilla.
It used to be popular to insert new characters for English versions of tokusatsu films afterwards, and Raymond Burr's character would return in Godzilla 1985 (the US version of The Return of Godzilla).
Also, the Universal Dracula had two different versions filmed simultaneously in different English and Spanish versions, with different actors for each version.
Surprisingly enough, the people who watched the Spanish version prefer that over the more known English version with Bela Lugosi.
Both The Message and Lion of the Desert were also filmed simultaneously with different English and Arabic versions, titled Ar-Risalah and Omar Mukhtar respectively.
It's much harder to find subbed versions of the Arabic versions but the director prefers those versions, and he said he would've casted the Arabic actors for the English versions if they could speak English.
