GoT had great casting, but horrible writing.
The moment they ran out of book material it instantly turned into shit. The imbeciles who watched the show didn't notice for a while because they only cared about sex scenes and violent executions. But you can only get so far with that shit before you run on fumes.
And obviously the show is better than the shitposty history book style summary of hundreds of years. But at the same time the dialogue of the show is way worse than what we had in early seasons of GoT when they still based the dialogue on the books.

He's not wrong, House of the Dragon is fixing a lot of flaws with the F&B story, like endearing us to Alicent, explaining some of Viserys' inner turmoil, showing a more balanced view since we see Rhaenyra is a spoiled bitch... Etc.

Tywin in the books is hard to imagine even existing as a real person. Like you can only imagine subordinates or his children talking to him because any person who has no reason to put up with him would just ignore him and treat him as autistic. In the show, he is much more believable.
