I've barely seen any westerns

And I would like to see some kino. Is picrel a good start? If yes, original or remake?

Original, definitely the original. The remake fucks up the story so bad that it made the author sad

start with a classic like good the bad and the ugly or magnificent 7

Ignore this dude and watch Shane instead

I depends on what kind of Westerns you like. You have your classic Westerns like John Wayne shit. You have your Spaghetti Westerns like Clilnt Eastwood shit. Then you have your more modern westerns.

Unforgiven I think is a good starter for Westerns. They even have a Japanese Samurai remake.

Original, if you want kino modern western watch this:

Huh, never heard of it. Would like to start with something more classic tho.

Some recommendations:
>Classic: The Searchers, The man who shot Liberty Valance, Johnny Guitar, How the West was won, 3:10 to Yuma
>Spaghetti: Dollars trilogy, Once upon a time in the West, High Plains Drifter, Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid
>Modern: Unforgiven, Bone Tomahawk

Appaloosa is often overlooked. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's a solid western.

True Grit (both of them) are pretty great

Saw remake only.

Yep, Bone Tomahawk is goat for kino horror-western mashup
Pic rel is also a decent entry to that genres.

I'm in the same boat as you, and I watched this last weekend. I wouldn't go as far as to call it kino, but it was an enjoyable watch with some compelling characters and decent action scenes.
Russell Crowe is great in this movie, too.

Shut up boomer, the story in remake is good on it's own and that's all that matters.

Hell or High water if you want a contemporary western.

I've seen both. The original is much better.
