Its only problem is bring called Exorcist III. The film really has a completely different tone to the previous two and it is great in its own right. It would have been better to Call it "Legion" as per the novel and avoid linking back to the first film altogether.

Iirc, it wasn't going to originally be a sequel to The Exorcist. I do think tying it into that franchise was a miss since it basically stands well enough on its own without alluding to/showing Exorcist events/characters.
