alright i watched this show after the constant shilling that was and is still being done on Any Forums
This consists of a bunch 14 year olds in a power Ranger suit and somehow this is LE CHRISTIAN. Absolute trash show that consists of every anime cliche you can think of. The monster are a bunch of geometric shapes. Animation is great sometimes but there are literally 2 minutes of the same footage being repeated throughout the show. Don't care what the hidden symbolism or message is. It's cringy and trash on the surface level. 4/10 music was good, fighting animations are great(just skip to watch them),voice acting is just screaming crying
it's just early 2000's nostalgia for most people, it's not actually something that holds up or is good anno was just a pouty edgy bitch boy when he made this and it shows in the writing

>cliche It literally invented all of those.

Delete shinji and replace him with kaji and boom, everyone will love it

evangelion actually was the first thing i was ever forced to watch by a friend when i was like 11-12 i hated it so much that it took me another 10 years to try another anime

Some of it is great. Other parts happen too fast or aren’t given enough plot to be great but still have some feeling to it.

I want to take the fleshy pulp from Asuka’s mashed up eye and use it as a lube to masturbate with.

>it's just early 2000's nostalgia for most people The show is from the mid 1990s.

I liked it for what it was. You are the retard here OP Of course its okay to find Shinji annoying

The original anime is kinda shit, at least the first half or so. It gets better after the creator had his mental breakdown and started introducing more interesting concepts, but overall there's a lot of meh and characters-acting-annoying shit to get through before it gets good.
The rebuild movies are generally better, if only because they had the chance to refine everything (the larger budget didn't hurt either). I can understand why people didn't like the third movie as much - it ventured way off into new territory, but it was worth it for the final movie.
Overall it's a weird series to recommend. It gets good, but you either need to wade through a lot of the bad first, or you just need to give up with the anime itself and start with the movies ... but then you still need to get through the third movie before getting the satisfaction of the final movie.

It's only bad if you >self insert as shinji >go in expecting le deep lore and story >are a christcuck looking for muh jewish symbolism It's a very basic show about a depressed kid with parental issues having to fight monsters. It uses weird imagery to stand out and some of them include things from Jewish and Christian faiths but they're just window dressing an shouldn't be construed as being a sign that the show is trying to be 2deep4u. The only big issue I have with it is that the early "normal" bits are boring to rewatch and the show ending doesn't mesh perfectly with EoE. I'd give it a 7. 8 with EoE.
Every episode I feel like yelling "stop talking retard" whenever they question a suspect. Also I can't stand Dutch. He has such a punchable face. My wife grew up in Pico Union close to where "Farmington" takes place. We still visit her family there and there are almost zero black people there kek. Meanwhile on the show there are blacks everywhere
>This consists of a bunch 14 year olds in a power Ranger suit and somehow this is LE CHRISTIAN This came out on VHS when I was 13ish, growing up in a strict evangelical christian household and Power Rangers was on TV every afternoon. I knew most of the biblical characters and it wigged me out. The weird dark sexual themes and violence in cartoon format was something I'd never experienced, and some of it is really rough. I sat through End of Evengelion with a friend while their mum poked in and out of the room like "oh they're just watching cartoons" in between the scenes of shinji fapping over his unconscious comrades' bare breasts and angels getting torn in half while old friends get flame-throwered to death
