Was anyone else reminded of HBO's Rome with the Numenor scenes or was it just me. Something about the practical Greco-Roman set design reminded me of it.

if they are like ancient rome, from surrounding rural areas but especially via massive imports from a nearby landmass

Each other

well, hollywood always draws on rome. same with king's landing in got. it's never too far from anglos mind.

This has bugged me ever since somebody pointed it out. I think the book describes surrounding farmland too, it's where the battle of Pelennor Fields happens.

1) Fish
2) Shellfish
3) Beef and milk taken from Serfs living on the mainland.

do autists really think this when the scene comes on or is it just a troll?

Trash. It's the only thing in the show.

The question is perhaps more forgivable if you are talking about Moria or any of the underground kingdoms. But Island cities are not exactly far-fetched or impractical

EU gibs?

The book also mentions that the city is half empty, with most people having evacuated long before the main cast of characters get there. It's essentially a military outpost.

never mind their food, what do they drink and how do they bathe. a city needs a river, the bigger the city, the more flowing water is needed

there are building outside of medieval city walls. in some cases many of them. surrounding farmlands used to be bought by the city as well, nearby forests were crucial too

>king's landing
Nothing about King's Landing felt like Rome to me, it just felt like a medieval city with a warmer climate.
