Ywnbaw

Can't have white heterosexual couple in current year, and nobody would watch romcom about minorities

I'm sure Monkey Pox helps you out as an identifier for prospective mates.

Did you remake this thread because everybody started talking about cocks?

This was the last I watched, made in 2019. It was okay.

Online dating and high speed internet porn gradually killed romance. Or if not that then the gradual decay of the world to the point where men and women don't get along

I want more actual ugly girl representation. Giving a conventionally attractive women a bad haircut and some glasses is a cop out. Female lead from Licorice Pizza was sort of of on the right track but Jewish and also her love interest was a teenager. Pass.

She was too ugly

Good.
All of these movies peddled really fake shit that could really fuck up the mind of a teenager. Shit like

- Just be nice bro unlike those dumb jocks and a hot girl will notice you and prefer you to them
- Jocks and bullies are all dumb
- Jocks and bullies will have an unsuccessful life after high school

I'm from the timeline where it's spelled Freddie Prince Jr.

Me too. wtf!

guys didn't like them because they were "chick flicks"
only real audience were young women and kids, who got sucked into the nerdy hype culture stuff
hollywood studios moved towards only big releases or award winners
that's it
modern romcoms are considered a niche, they're too small profit-wise for a studio to really invest in them. It's why a lot of the ones that get made today are artsy or "indie" or have a gimmick like the lesbian one.
they basically could only exist in that sweet spot where studios could release smaller-to-medium commercial films, which isn't a thing these days.

HOWEVER, the Kissing Booth was a success so I dunno, maybe they start bringing them back.

Giving them a spot on the screen is fine and dandy, but you lose me when you demand I capitulate that some ugly hog with an awful screen presence playing an unlikable character is a 10/10. If I'm not even that big of a Chad and I'd in fact pass on her if given the opportunity, don't rewrite reality.

There is no media revolving around ugly/bald/short guys with an attitude problem and no job/money running around getting laid all the time, unlike the "female protag w/ 2 orbiters" formula that has been run into the ground with endless soulless and shameless iterations.

they don't make money, simple as that
at least not on the big screen, so enjoy your direct to dvd and hallmark movies

> where studios could release smaller-to-medium commercial films

You're mostly right, except when it comes to this, studios could release smaller films, they don't to and it's up to the audiences realizing this and just refusing to support films that don't match their tastes.

fuck off troon

vag or gtfo troon

They made some with Ryan Renolds, it killed the genre completely.

People stopped thinking that average goof could find a hot gf. When zoomers watch a romantic comedy they'll say "no way would she be okay with some poor loser who isn't even hot"
