Cease this groundless anti-maesterism

>HE IS THE LORD'S CHOSEN!
>BORN AMIDST SALT AND SMOKE!

why do bookfags think the show ruined his character?

I actually really liked his character. Him burning Shireen at the stake was a legitimately powerful and horrifying scene

And it’s not like he did it flippantly. At first he was pissed at Melissandre for even suggesting it. But he came to believe that if he wanted to be king, he needed to do it.

Think about it…if you thought it was your destiny to become king, would you sacrifice your daughter? Probably no but when it’s something you’ve been fighting for, you’re gonna at least consider it

I think they did a good job with his decision. You can tell it killed him and ultimately he’s not a good guy but he had a lot of nuance to him

>Excuse me, Your Grace... I believe we may have underestimated the single dragon...

Truly a Game of Thrones

The Throne needs to be diversified. It's only right to pass it to Meghan.

post Bran

Exactly. Stannis is supposed to be a character study of how the pursuit of kingship takes a toll on your ethos and its consequences. Jon's role as Lord Commander is also this and he paid for his short-sightedness.

Stannis was a nutter from the start.

What is the lore implication of this?

faceless men were always in our midst

Sorry I'm late, just watched the episode. CRABS BTFO!

Valyrian experiments have gone too far.

He was described as this dour yet determined dude that helped set the War of the 5 Kings in motion when he and Jon Arryn investigated the parentage of the royal kids.

When we finally see him, he comes off as this atheist who takes advantage of Melisandre's power which he freely admits to. Rigid in his autism, but not a loon.

>ifunny

Lads I'm worried they will turn Rhaenyra into a fantasy hitler like they did Dany.

Harry really used to be a "rogue" back then.

I'm not very familiar with this era.

Can I get a power rankings list of the Major Houses? Like I'm not even sure who is pledged to who as bannermen either.

It's almost exactly the same

Reading the book version made me think he is the most "reasonable" of all the candidates. The one legit bad thing about him is probably the kinslaying which you could argue is done as self defense. The show's portrayal made him a lot more ambitious rather than the bitter but dutiful man from the source material.
