Elves at Helm’s Deep

Kino or lore breaking?

It works well for the movies, even if they didn't really serve a purpose.

>elves at Helm's Deep
look really badass and kick ass for the first half, then inexplicably disappear completely and become irrelevant at the end
>elves at the battle of five armies
look really badass and kick ass for the first half, then inexplicably disappear completely and become irrelevant at the end

>petey jackass making LOTR
look really badass and kick ass for half a decade, then inexplicably starts making trash
>petey jackass making LOTR 2.0
look really . . . bad. anyone who disagrees is wearing a buttplug underneath an adult diaper

It's sends a pretty good message that elves arn't just a bunch of stubborn assholes. Having the last bit of strength of elves in middle earth sacrificed for the greater good is kino. Cause up until this point we are made to think that Elrond and Galadriel had basically given up. Now that the skate is wiped clean, it all comes down to the strength of men in rotk.

Both.

>Be semi-divine creature
>All these fucking mexicans infested the place so much and turned the place into mexico that you are disgusted and leaving
>Mexicans will start fighting nigs
>Go and die for the mexicans in their fight against nigs while the rest of your kin leaves for greener pastures
Lore breaking

>respawn in valinor
>don't have to walk to the grey havens
>don't have to take that faggoty ship
Think of all the time saved.

How come the dwarfs never helped out?

Too busy wit der gold.

>mexican calls your ship "faggoty"
>you go and fight on his behalf
see how lore breaking it is?

completely lorebreaking move by Hackson

Him getting his skull caved in was very memorable, so was the shots of the dead elves lying in the mud. Made the battle more serious, too bad Jackson didn't have the guts to show dead child soldiers too

Kinda retarded but whatever. They pretty much totally rewrote the battle from scratch for the movie to make something more dramatic. The battle in the book isn't particularly tense or that big of a deal, being one part of a campaign with roughly even numbers on wither side.

they are, redditor. that's a core trait at this point

Stop being racist

Shut the fuck up, nigger.

They did but the movies didn't take place in the places where they fought.
The original three that is.

You can’t really convey whats going on with the elves in the film, but there are hints of it, such as the passing of the elves in fellowship. Theyre in autumn time, its just not their fight anymore.

It hurt the tone of the film, they all die anyway, and killed the buildup for the rohirrim to save the day

Lorebreaking but still kino

Stop being racist.

Why was Haldir so fat?

They filmed Arwyn as being there and fighting with the army, but edited her out of the final cut
