You'll notice that a lot of modern comedies tried to shift into spectacle "humor" instead of legitimately funny and will written material. What is spectacle humor? It's replacing jokes with loud noises and whacky action scenes. Obviously this isn't very funny and becomes annoying if it's repeated enough. A funny movie can make a lot of money for very little investment. So why isn't Hollywood making good comedies? The same reason they can't make good movies. The scripts are shit.

You probably noticed how each decade had its own style of comedy and each one got shittier and shittier IMO, like for example the late 90s was gross out humor and boner teen comedies, then it came to Old School, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson type comedies, then it was Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow with their own specific humor, then it was The Hangover bringing the "everything is crazy and raunchy!!" comedies
