Defeated because of semantics

>defeated because of semantics
BRAVO TOLKIEN

It's more like:
>BRAVO HACKSON
Since in the books the one that kills him is Pippin with his magical sword and both him and Eowyn almost die because of having contact with the Witchking

its not a literal "no man can kill me", nowhere is that ever said to be a literal actual thing, its just that everyone thinks he is undefeatable.

Bitchking

don't forget those goddamn giant birds that coulda just plopped the ring into Mt Doom.

Gandalf says it explicitly in one of his conversations with Denethor. I'm too lazy right now to copy the exact quote tho.

fulfilling a prophecy is not semantics

>Pippin kills him
(1) you've confused Merry for Pippin
(2) It wasn't Merry who killed him either, Eowyn strikes the killing blow. Merry just hobbles him and pierces his magic with the enchanted Western blade. If I rip off your bulletproof vest and my buddy Greg blows a hole in your chest, Greg is the one that killed you.

Bilbo also had the chance to destroy it during the events of The Hobbit since it is said that dragonfire can also destroy the rings of power.

>Far off yet is his doom, and not by the hand of man will he fall.-Glorfindel

Glorfindel foretold his defeat, there is technically no "rule" that a Man can't kill him, it's just not going to happen that way because [Fate]. It's just like Macbeth's "born of a woman" thing. Macbeth was not actually immune to damage from people born normally.

Yeah but its a figure of speech, he is referring to man as in the species and just saying that "it is said no man can defeat him" as in he is just that badass, he is not literally saying "no male man can defeat him because of some curse or prophecy". When she says "I am no man" its just an corny one liner, but every retard on this board thinks thats what it means.

This person understands

no no no

I clearly remember Arondir rollin' up in his '64 Impala while flinging 9mm arrows at him as he drove by while driving Tupac to the hospital.

Spoiler alert: Tupac didn't make it

>dragonfire can also destroy the rings of power.
not the One.

>This person
>Not user
just go back, i don't care where you came from

absolute retard

a) the eagles were super proud and didnt want to get involved in any of that man shit
b) they would have been corrupted by the ring, due largerly to how proud they are

Would a tranny be able to kill him? What does the prophecy define as a 'man'?

It doesn't you retard, it foretells Pippin and Eowyn specifically killing him

Calm down.

Why are chuds so triggered and threatened by strong women? Galadrial is literally more powerful than any man in Middle Earth

>you've confused Merry for Pippin
I always confuse them, since both kinda fill the same role.

Merry's sword SEPARATED his soul from the armor that contained it. That counts as killing for me, Eowyn's thrust was just the coup de grace.

Also Smaug was probably way too bitchmade to destroy one of the rings anyway.

>big ass bird rules middle earth
What would his tax policy be?

>can't even tell the Hobbits apart
>now let me tell you what the lore acktually says!

>Why are chuds so triggered and threatened by strong women?
Because they are unrealistic af. Give examples of strong women (notable heroes with remarkable combat prowess) in real history. Even if you find a handful, it pales in comparison to the number of males.

I mean technically he was defeated by a magic dagger, it just happened to be wielded by a woman

10% flat tax

That bitchking fled from Gil-Galad because he legitimately thought that that Elf-GOD would whoop his ass 100/100 times.

You're trying WAY too hard to fit in, kid.

I believe Tolkien was actually making a reference to Shakespeare's MacBeth, where the witches tell Hamlet cannot be beaten by 'any man of woman born.' MacBeth takes this to mean that he is invincible, but ends up being defeated by a guy (Donalbain iirc) who was born via Caesarean. So compared to the original this is actually a lot less bullshit. I think the ents are also partially used to 'fix' Macbeth, since Macbeth also contains a prophecy about Birnam Wood marching to Dunsinane Hill and Macbeth is like 'a forest can't march, I'm invincible!' but then the hero cuts a bunch of branches from the forest to use as cammo which apparently counts (even though that's total bullshit).

Jesus, really? Just because of one mistake you disregard my opinions? That's quite petty and petulant from your part. Excuse me for not being as much of a lotr ''expert'' as you, pal.

>high king of the elves
>is named Gigachad
Bravo Tolkien

>Hamlet cannot
MacBeth I mean.

pure. fucking. cope.
at least Star Wars fans are semi cognizant of the problems with their beloved OT. tolkien fans think the man shit gold nuggets and pissed rose water

there was a great subversion of this trope where a viking chief couldn't be killed by a man so they trained a masculine woman to beat him she gets her ass kicked incredibly easily and they just poison him instead

Also would make for a great live action show, already has a bunch of black/dark skinned characters anyway for diversity quotas

thank you for that input loli coomer. kindly return to your containment boards

>I am no man!
>Now let me just wait for my manlet orbiter to defeat you so I can stab you in the face while you're down
b-bravo feminism

>no counter argument

It's true you mental midget. There is a whole scene in The Hobbit that shows how the Eagles are proud idiots that never want to get involved in the affairs of those that live on the ground. Also they definitely would have been corrupted; Frodo gets corrupted, Bilbo gets corrupted, Boramir gets corrupted just being around it, Gandalf gets tempted into corruption when he sees it at Bilbo's, even Sam has a brief, brief moment of corruption when he considers not giving the ring back to Frodo.

You are just flat out ignoring one of the main conceits of the story in order to justify your "le epic plothole!" youtuber bullshit.

Hang yourself.
