Both are legacy sequels, both are great action flicks. One bombed and the other is a commercial success.

Fury Road didn't bomb at all. It just wasn't a huge hit like Maverick. Probably because it looked more unconventional so didn't draw as broad an audience as Top Gun, because it didn't have Tom Cruise, because fighter jets are more exciting than cars in the desert, because it's less family friendly, because it was competing with Age of Ultron and probably some other films, whereas Top Gun had little competition.

MMFR didn't bomb. Not even close

MMFR is so much better than maverick, I don't recall seeing any niggers in mad Max. How are people letting the women and nigger pilots in top gun slide it honestly ruined the movie for me more than it did seeing it in a packed cinema. I'll never see a movie in the cinema again it's such a bad experience, fmovies or torrents from here on out.

I love Fury Road, even though it did a little pandering - it delivered a wonderful creative joyride along Max. I wish we had more movies like that, or even a series with the Warboys. Just following them through all kinds of tomfuckery.

Furiosia was just a superhot side character that was a complete fuck up in the film, meanwhile Basado Max was solving and doing everything you know like the main protagonist

Top Gun is a classic. It's quite good. Very solid, not a wasted minute in the whole thing.

The little comics that came out weren't bad
