Is Hercules the only movie with retrofuturism ancient greace aesthetic?

Why does it look like Vegas?

It's called anachronism, and the live-action TV show did it first. Hercules' sidekick invents surfing in one episode

He's referring to the artstyle fusing then modern cartoon aesthetics with ancient Greek art traits, not any anachronisms within the story

Basically this

>Yea Disney animation Greek mythology could be cool but what people really want to see is a shitty Superman / Rocky movie about celebrity culture with a gospel soundtrack

Well, Hercules is the best Disney movie. So they did something right.

Does that really qualify as retrofuturism? It has to attempt to be futuristic first

Hercules is not in Disney's top 20

>is this the only movie with *extremely specific descriptor*
You ask dumb questions

What would you call it then? Retropresentism?

I would call it a Disney flick

based James Woods was brilliant as Hades
how can other Disney villains even compete?

There are a lot of movies with retrofuturism, like Blade Runner, Rocketeer, Brazil, Metropolis

>he had it put in his contract that no one else can ever voice the character for Disney without his approval
based

I hate to break it to you but Hercules is not retrofuturism.

It is tho

Retrofuturism is an aesthetic from the past that in its time was meant to represent the future. For example this image

So Hercule is retropresentism?

it's retro art

Hercules is the best Disney movie if you don't really like Disney movies. It's honestly more like a DreamWorks animated movie but not about Jewish mythology like Prince of Egypt. It fits more in line with movies like road to El dorado and Sinbad than what Disney was making.

>top 20
You made your number too big, because now you're going to have to say what 20 Disney movies you think are better and we're going to have a good laugh at you.

I prefer Disney's Golden Age (1950s era especially) but as far as the Disney renaissance goes, Hercules is the best after The Little Mermaid imo
