But I thought adaptations had to exactly adhere to the >lore?
Omitted from the movie trilogy, along with the Barrow Downs, Glorfindel, and the entire Scouring of the Shire
there's a difference between lore and events that are ultimately filler you disingenuous amazon shill
>But I thought adaptations had to exactly adhere to the >lore?
No, they just have to try and tell basically the same story with the similar themes and not have open hostility towards the fanbase. It's really not that complicated, but I guess low IQ individuals such as yourself get confused easily.
The most boring and retarded part of the books.
>my criticisms are always valid
right, so
So it's OK when Jackson does it?
>hostility to the fanbase
How? Like, are they forcing you to watch it or are you just a pussy and your feelings are hurt?
is it true that he's stronger than goku?
>low IQ
This is what it's all about for you, isn't it? You convince yourself of your superiority by remember a bunch of facts about elves. And anyone who changes the drafts of his notebooks (except Peter Jackson because you were 6) even an iota is "hostile" towards you
This.
Skipping something due to time restraints is one thing.
Completely shitting on the lore because you can is something else.
One is merely an omission; the other is open deception.
>right, so
>How? Like, are they forcing you to watch it or are you just a pussy and your feelings are hurt?
>my criticisms are always valid
You catch on fast.
How did they "completely shit on the lore" and why is omitting Tom Bombadil not shitting on the lore?
Ah, right. The black elves and shit.
>This is what it's all about for you, isn't it? You convince yourself of your superiority by remember a bunch of facts about elves. And anyone who changes the drafts of his notebooks (except Peter Jackson because you were 6) even an iota is "hostile" towards you
I deserved the mockery. It's about the black elves, not your IQ. Sorry for the mistake.
They didn't change the lore, they just omitted these things from the movies, meaning they could have still happened. Except for the Scouring of the Shire though, I guess.
Explain black people in Middle-Earth, explain why everyone treats Galadriel like shit, explain why Galadriel is out to get Sauron despite never doing so previously, explain why all the Elves have short hair, explain why Celebrimbor is so fucking old, explain why Dwarves are growing food underground, explain how there can be two Durin's alive at the same time, explain why female Dwarves don't have beards.
Wanna know why they did this shit? Because they don't fucking care. They're altering things for the sake of altering them.
The black elves does shit on the lore, yes. Elves originated before the sun was even a thing, and you can't have darker skin without the sun. Get fucked.
is this the latest Amazon talking point they're giving staff to come post about?
is the racism angle not working?
It's funny because the exact sort of people defending the new LOTR show because they love diversity and for no other reason are the exact people that would ordinarily be attacking it for not following the books close enough. Those are the sorts of people that hated, and still hate the LOTR films for not being "faithful".
Well, there's a difference between being "100% faithful' and being "respectful". Jackson's LOTR trilogy isn't faithful and takes a lot of liberties, but it is clearly RESPECTFUL and is oozing with love for the source material and for Tolkien. Rings of Power is oozing with GREED and disdain for the man that wrote it, who would be utterly disgusted with what was produced.
To put it simply, if Tolkien were alive, I believe he would enjoy the Lord of the Rings movies. He would not enjoy Rings of Power. He would not have allowed Rings of Power to be made. That is the difference.
>They're altering things for the sake of altering them.
Literally and unironically Melkor-tier shit.
One is can be thought to still be there, just not shown. You can easily imagine that Tom and Old Man Willow could have happened in the story, if the director had time and money to do so.
The other is the producers/writing team making things up to fill their need for fan fiction and false story.
The fact that you can not tell the difference means you are an idiot or a malfeasant actor trying to bait reactions.
Either way, I am done.
What's extra hilarious is they also did some whitewashing. The guy yelling at the black elf should not be white, he's an Easterling. In their fear of being racist by casting all of the devil worshipping people lore-accurately they actually removed nonwhite representation from the show.
Tom Bombadil is a shit tier character and you're autistic.
>not have open hostility towards the fanbase
Nah. They did my man Faramir wrong. He was a great man.
>knife ears
Ah yes, very Tolkien-esque. This show has more in common thematically, aesthetically, and tonally with The Witcher tv show than it does with Lord of the Rings. Like if you told me that webm was from The Witcher I'd 100% believe you, its so out of step with Tolkien.
Everytime I saw the nogelf posted before this came out I thought it was from the witcher show
Try Dragon Age, it's the same shit. Amazon were even developing a Dragon Age show and it seems like a lot of stuff from that found its way into RoP
You are sperging out hard over your gay elf show. Please seek professional help. It is all fiction and not worth getting so worked up.
Not always.
Faramir (and Denethor) were both done dirty yes, but it was in the service of making a more coherent movie adaptation, not hatred for the fans. Nobody sensible is arguing that the Jackson films were perfect adaptations, but they are still (overall) masterpieces.
