The writers ran out of ideas by the end of season 2. You can start seeing the slight decline in quality in later episodes of S2. It took them a long time to release S3 because they knew they were out of steam and Roiland even left because he knew it was over creatively. Everyone saying "muh women" are retards, the new writers were just aftermath of them going creatively bankcrupt. At worst the new writers would have added some shitty b-plotlines and jokes to the show if the creativity of the main guys were still there to dominate the storytelling.
