are there any movies where the protagonist or antagonist just do what ever they want with no regards to anything or anyone with no morals or goals? Akin to the main chatacter from Angst, maybe johnny from Naked, or Oh Dae-su after being released, or maybe even le tenia from irreversible. I like characters like these a lot.

It's not a movie but The North Water

I'm fine with series too and this looks good so thank you for the recommendation. another few examples I can give are funny games and salo. I don't really mind gore

Salo's a good one. Check out de Sade's writings if you're willing to go beyond the screen.

yes I have Dialogue Between a Priest and a Dying Man, Justine, and Juliette on my reading list. The idea of a libertine has always amused me, likely because I could never imagine myself as one.

"I Saw the Devil" might be for you (Choi Min-sik is in it). It's a "cop vs killer" type of flick, but neither of them give the slightest shit about morality, collateral damage or other potential consequences of their actions.

They rape, steal and do everything they want
Also it's got prime Depardieu in it

(me)
Also, check out both versions of "Bad Lieutenant". Herzog's version is a bit sillier and the protagonist is slightly more likable than the Ferrara version, but they're still both amusingly deranged and morally bankrupt.

Clerks

I was about to post 'Naked' but then I read the rest of the post. I think you should also try
>Spoorloos (kidnapping mystery with the perspective of the kidnapper, try to avoid spoilers)
>The House That Jack Built (kind of hilarious but maybe not everyone's cup of tea)
>Young Adam (more drama like)
>There Will Be Blood (just in case you missed it somehow, I did for a while)
>Buffalo 66

Thank you everybody for the recommendations, I'm sorry that I cant reply to you all individually but I can assure you I will watch them all.

I think you might enjoy Blood Meridian.

I read it many years ago and thought it was fantastic but I definitely need to reread it

I'd like to add the UK version of the House of Cards, if you're looking for series too. It doesn't get dumb like the American version and the protagonist is a more believable, darker persona.

Of course

Thank you, I enjoyed what I saw of the American version and didn't realise there was a UK version originally.

Get in the back of the van

Kyua

This movie pairs well with Naked

Gravity's Rainbow has a lot of "libertine" characters so to speak. Lots of people wandering around without a clear aim and largely driven by their (often sexual) instincts, the plot becomes increasingly irrelevant and the narrative is really about these weirdos roaming and fucking around (literally) in WW2 Europe and their intertwining stories.

Yes. OG coming through (re-make is OK too).
