feet weren't really focused on despite having to run on uneven terrain for days without changing her socks so I can't say it's very good. If there was a scene where she took off her boots and had smelly boot feet and then wiggled her toes while looking directly in the camera then maybe it'd be a 6/10

I enjoyed them, looking forward to the prequel with Hunter.

i actually liked the relative dourness/dryness of the last film, i'm glad they split the last book but wish they did it for the 2nd one too

They are exactly what they are categorized as - yound adult novels.
The world and mechanica make absolutely no sense, but it is tolerable popcorn entertainment.

yeah, i actually followed the series by watching the films first then tried the books and then rewatched the films to see how that affected my enjoyment. i don't regret it, i'm surprised it was a hit with the YA crowd because there's a lot of downer stuff in it that's conveyed without angst and matter-of-factly. she just flatlines emotionally when shit happens to her

I thought the movies were pretty good. I never read the books but it's a pretty neat premise. Sutherland definitely elevates it.

Good but extremely forgettable. There are hundreds of Japanese manga that does survival games better.

actually pretty good for the genre... could see kids learning decent values from them, proper distrust of authority & media & the like.

They're ok, together with Maze Runner I think they were the peak of the post-apocalyptic YA wave, Maze Runner has the better action and much more charismatic characters, but Hunger Games has the better overall plot, it's just too bad we miss most of it because of the excessive focus on Katpiss.

District 12 gets the love in spite of holding their heads down the whole time, but District 11 was the one to actively rebel first and suffer for it.
