Memories of murder is the best korean film ever made. Korean dramas are absolute trash for the most part with a few watchable ones like squid game but mostly they're cheesy, badly acted, poorly written and cliche. Korean movies on the other hand are absolute kino and they make the best thrillers. The only korean drama I've liked is pachinko and that was made by American koreans i think which e plains the huge difference in quality compared to their domestic shlock

The screenwriter from Op's pic top right, and many other korean movies masterpiece, has also made the best rated kdrama on imdb. FYI. The pilot for her new kdrama is out today, and is a 10/10. Yes, it doesn't have the budget of Pachinko, it still better imo so far.
