Now that the dust has settled, how would you have fixed this?

It has the same problem as most shows, where the political daydreaming of leftist writers became a higher priority than telling a compelling, believable story

Well first making them look like real vikings. Aka ignorant sea niggers that pillaged monasteries and fishermen villages and then ran away the moment they saw the men at arms. Their cousins, the normans and the varangians, are way more interesting

Not too familiar with the Varangians. Any recommendations on content to read/watch about them? Primary sources good too

>tune down any "creative" decision to make shitty leather LARP armour
>focus budget on historically accurate armour
>tune down muh feminism female warriors
>make relations between different places more realistic
>make vikangz more morally grey, focus on how horrible they are to people they raid, beneficial to people they trade with, and lovely to people back home

They nailed ritualistic and 'spiritual' scenes though. The first 1,5-2 seasons stand out as being fucking kino.
