He probably sued the fuck out of tv studio

It seems like Truman escaping proved the producer was a kidnapper so that voice of god guy probably goes to a lot of prison after the movie

anyone else develop paranoid schizophrenia at a young age after watching this movie?

>brand pays to be on the truman show
>side character shills it on camera
>truman says it's the worst shit he's ever had
>gets sued

I mean technically the studio owns Truman

This. He'd become one of the richest men on the planet.

They said they adopted him.
Once he became an adult they had no right to keep him there.

Would a Truman sequel where he has trouble adapting to real life work? Dude probably never even saw a black guy before.

Carrey is too old now.
Now it's about a young black kid who finds homeless Truman who never learned how to live in a world that didn't revolve around him and has been kicked out by his wife

Feels like only narcissists suffered from the syndrome named after the movie, who the fuck else would assume to be interesting enough for something like that

In fairness, they had no idea if Truman was going to turn out to be interesting as a person.

he was always free to leave, he just had no idea there was anything to leave.

When he started running past the power plant and they all ran him down to stop him from finding the exit is a legitimate attempt to keep him there.

But they made him the way he is, he was heavily manipulated on a grand scale to turn out exactly the way he is

Well that wouldn't have worked out well if he turned out to have Aspergers or something they wouldn't have known about until he was old enough to talk about it.

He can't sue the tv studio. They literally own him. He's not juridically human, just a set asset, like rex, lassie or rintintin

they also staged the drowning of his father when he was younger.

I don't think that's legal, especially after truman turns 18

lol, good luck trying to claim a person as your property in a lawsuit outside Africa and the Middle East.

The movie is obviously taking place in some dystopian future user

>that episode where Truman was caught jerking into his sister's underwear
haha, classic.

sure, but user is right considering the movie's universe. The show itself wouldn't exist otherwise

They didn't own him, they adopted him which meant they had a care and duty as guardians one could argue was not fulfilled. However he's now a legal adult, and has been for about 17 years, and he's been imprisoned and robbed of agency and free will. The director of the show admits on live tv they contrived ways in which to keep him there. He was robbed of a chance to live a life as he would have. All for billions in profit of which he saw nothing.
