it's maybe the best in the series when it comes to having a lot of random places to explore and loot without needing to be attached to a quest. new vegas is a little weak on that front since so much of the map is wasteland while fo4 has suburbs covering a lot of the map with the city area itself being pretty dense with areas to explore. new vegas really doesn't have that much of the urban exploration aspect outside of a few parts like fiend turf. kind of a shame since that was one of the best parts of fo3, glad fo4 brought it back. plenty of stuff new vegas does better to make up for that, but at least we got SOMETHING good in fo4 with how much other stuff was straight up worse
