Why didn't Elrond sail away with the ring to Valinor?

Why didn't Frodo touch grass and stop being a whiny faggot?

why didn't they use hobbit rockets to go to space

The Valar would turn his ass around

Why didn't they just give it to Bombadil?

lol going into heaven with a the devil's literal soul is a plan a retard would come up with.

They adressed this in the book. Tom Bombautism wouldn't be capable of giving two fucks about the ring and would probably lose it because of adhd and aspergers.

Based

You're gay.

>because… BECAUSE THEY JUST WOULD OK?! MUH SIL MARILLION!
Kill yourself

The whole point is that Sauron's returning and if they don't destroy the ring they're fucked. It's not just about Sauron not getting the ring, it's that if the ring isn't destroyed they're doomed anyway. How the fuck do people miss this?

because they didnt want drama at the new location

If Eru was so powerful why couldn't he just destroy rhe ring once it got there?

This, they outright STATE it at the Council of Elrond. Even if they gave it to Tom Autisticillo he would have just held onto it until the world was overrun and his own power would fade.

Why would Elrond care about the world ending? He was leaving anyway. If he was that concerned who could have taken it out of the world when he left.

They also say that Sauron expects them to go to the west, which was heavily under siege by the forces of evil in anticipation. Besides that the Valar would never allow the ring into Valinor because they'd get their shit pushed in for fucking with the realm.

>who
*he

Literally in the LotR books they suggest sending the ring to Valinor for the Valar to destroy and they decide not to specifically because if the Valar reject it they'll have wasted all of their time waiting.
The Silmarillion is an excellent book and you should read it.
> muh dense
literally everybody I know who got filtered by The Silmarillion was a redditor.

>Why would Elrond care about the world ending?
He was insanely concerned about it for centuries, that's why he stayed. He convinced himself that it was really all over though, which was his whole reason for leaving. He was completely despondent at that point, and he only decided to leave after the ring was destroyed because his own ring's power failed and he no longer felt like he was in place in Middle Earth.

I’ve read it, it’s dry. LoTR is considered his best work for a reason.

why did they need to torture Gollum to begin with? dude was a mess, did he really care all that much about the Shire?
