I think it’s fine

I think AvPR is a fine and fun movie.

It doesn’t deserve any oscars, but it’s enjoyable the same way a grindhouse movie is. Loads of gore and violence. It also has easily the best creature effects in the series. Guys in suits always mog CGI. Looking at you, Covenant. There’s some kino shots too. The shot where the Predalien is reflected on a polished skull in the predator ship. Shot where Wolf holds who aliens by their necks and the tongue mouths shoot out, barely not hitting him. Final fight on the hospital roof is also one of the best scenes in the franchise.

A film you can enjoy. Not as a work of art, but as a torture porn grindhouse slasher movie.

PS: Stop bitching about the lighting. Yes it’s shit, but you faggots keep saying you can’t see anything and that’s a goddamn lie. You’re just regurgitating Reddit speak when you say that. Watch the movie in a dark room, on a good TV and you can see shit just fine.

No, fuck you. I’m talking about the lighting, faggot. I watched it with a tv that has no issues with any other films, at night, in the dark, and still couldn’t see shit. It looked terrible. I arrived at that conclusion the second I saw it, not through a hive mind, just like anyone else with fucking eyeballs. The movie is otherwise what you would be looking for clicking into it.

why have they not released a version with fixed lighting?

I like it

You and I must have watched different movies. I watched it last week and could see shit fine. Sure, a few shots here and there are hard to see, but you can generally see what’s happening throughout the film.

I don't see

>no peace on earth
>in some remote mountain town

Idk. I saw where someone had raised the lighting by 300% for a compilation of the Predalien scenes. That definitely makes a huge difference. I’d say that edit just about fixed the lighting issue, but it was only a few brief scenes so idk how it would work for the whole film. But for some reason, people in the comments kept bitching about how they still ‘can’t see anything’.

A page from the Alien 3 playbook.

“In space no one can hear you scream… on earth everyone will.”

Non-canon trash. David created the Xenomorphs; there were never any on Earth. Praise Ridley Scott for bringing the Alien franchise back to its roots.

It’s dumb fun desu. If you just want a few cool moments, gore, and creature effects then it’s not a bad watch.

Rejected. The Predator - which was released after Ridley’s last dumpster fire - says AvP is canon. The upcoming Alien series for FX also takes place before Prometheus, so David can’t have made the Xenomorph.

Prometards stay losing

so are you dropping a teaser trailer for the alien series soon?
this is like the 20th thread today

As a grindhouse movie it certainly wipes the floor with "Prey" at any rate. Goes to show how bad the artistic decline in Hwood really is.

good bait

I like it more than the first one tbqh

correct opinion

I think xenomorphs should be kept in closed spaces.
The scene where they attack in an open space made me feel like a Raptor ripoff.

>stopped reading at predalien
kek that shit is gay

Having Xenomorphs in a contemporary setting with regular technologies is just wrong.

It wipes the floor with Prey because the gore there was just CGI shit, but for some goddamn reason people keep sucking it’s dick.

You know that scene in Venom? Where he bites a dudes head off, but it’s shot in a way where you don’t really see anything so they don’t have to show blood? Prey has so many kills that feel like that. It feels like they were shot in a way where they could get away with not having blood, but then the studio told them they could have an R rating and then just haphazardly put CGI blood.
Cloaked predator gets revealed by having blood drip down on it? The Predator did it better.
Man gets caught in the razor net which will tighten around him and make him into cubes? AvP did it better. They both show it start cutting into the guy, but then Prey does this BS where it pans away so the real gore happens off screen and we don’t get to see it.
The gore in that movie is fucking gay and I’m sick of hearing people act like it’s so brutal.

ur gay

>a dog shit film and an unreleased spin-off series invalidate the canon of the man who created the Alien franchise
Sorry you got filtered by Prometheus.

I didn’t hate that scene. It gave us glimpses of soldiers getting slaughtered by aliens. And the one shot where it’s raining and a soldier is looking through a blood splattered car window, only for an alien to silently rise behind him and blow his brains out with the inner mouth is kino.
