His house are Valyrian, and they arrived with the Targs (and like 2 other houses) before the conquest even happened. Anyone trying to justify it is coping. If he was just black, it wouldn't be that odd, but the whole "they're black but they're still got valyrian hair) is dumb.
I’m a bookfag and I’ve spent hours autistically reading the wiki, but I don’t remember any Targaryens that married a Summer Islander, it’s not implausible but even if they did it’s still kinda retarded casting because they’d be mulatto, not coal black, especially since Valyrian genes tend to be extremely dominant

The Summer Islands are supposed to be a very wealthy and relatively powerful kingdom, so wanting to creat an alliance with them through marriage isn’t entirely unrealistic, Targaryens also have a bad habit of marrying off their kids to absolute trash in general too lol
