There's a lot of team effort in these movies but the result doesn't always reflect how the fight looked like. For example Tokyo S.O.S. (not counting offscreen victory over Kamoebas) it's basically one big fight and Godzilla kills Mothra but it's still part of the same fight with her larvae and Mechagodzilla which he loses.
In Legendary series his fight with Ghidorah off the coast of Mexico counts as a loss even though it's only because of human intervention, he would've killed him otherwise. Also in GVK Godzilla didn't lose against Mechagodzilla because the fight was interrupted and it turned into 2v1.
