Imagine if the GoT pilot opened with a title crawl explaining to the audience that this wasn’t real and just fantasy.

You didn't know it was a prequel?

Whats so bad about this?

I dont get it

The meme was the producers knowing their average audience it's so stupid that readin three lines of text it's too much for their attention span. So they had to highlight the important stuff like you do for kindergarten kids

this is just stupid. i hate this show already.

Seriously? You can't take 2 minutes to make a fucking gif of this for the smooth brains?? You failed. You should feel bad OP.

they make it easy to filter them out

It's for diverse audiences.

Worked out well for Ridley Scott.

I'm thinking they probably had a much longer intro text, with all sorts of names of characters long since forgotten, but each time they kept dumbing it down more and more until "172 years before....Dany"

that little stunt erased the only remaining potential nuance in the film

Daenerys is so important she's used to contextualize 172 year old history

House of the Dragon isn't a Rashomon mystery.

Neither was The Last Duel, thanks to that intermission.

The Fire Nation mogs House Targaryen

>doing a self-Thog in a movie format
BRILLIANT!

wasted potential: the movie

I guess thye are aware that brainlet Americans didn't care about anything but "muh Kween" so they had to explain their setting in most simple terms
