Does anyone else like old sci fi kino from the last 60s to the early 80s? It awakens such an odd feeling in me. I’ve made a list of some of my favorites:
The Time Machine (1960) Fahrenheit 451 (1966) Planet of The Apes (1968) 2001: A Space Odyssey (1969) Journey to the Far Side of the Sun (1969) Colossus: The Forbin Project (1970) The Andromeda Strain (1971) The Omega Man (1971) THX-1138 (1971) Silent Running (1972) Solaris (1972) Onions Green (1973) Westworld (1973) Zardoz (1974) Rollerball (1975) The Stepford Wives (1975) Logans Run (1976) Demon Seed (1977) Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) The Clonus Horror (1979) Mad Max (1979) Saturn 3 (1980) Blade Runner (1982) 1984 (1984)
What are some of your favorite sci fi kino from this era?
Fuck you faggots I make an actual good thread about something actually Any Forums related and not even a single reply. Would be nice to just have normal anonymous conversations about movies without >HURRR MOMMY MILKERS HURRRR BOOBA *masturbates furiously* Is there seriously no middle ground between corporate bootlicking reddit and cumbrained Any Forums? Fuck all of you this board is fucking garbage. >OOHOHOHOH ANIMEEEEEEEE >HUHU HU HU BETTER CALL SAUL KIM MOMMYYYYY Rot in hell, all of you

Yes. Scifi was actually scifi then. After that it's just fantasy/action except they all have lasers instead of swords.
Adam King

Jonathan Murphy
I like the 50s movies not just because they were great but the generation that grew up on them (monster kids) became the best genre directors in the 80s.
Anthony Torres
>Does anyone else like old sci fi kino from the last 60s to the early 80s? Yes, plus horror from the 60's and 70's. Before the Bad Times began
Journey to the center of the earth 20,000 Leagues under the Sea Fantastic Voyage Forbidden Planet The Black Hole Star Trek the Motion Picture
Wyatt Ortiz
>(Things to Come) Black&white sci-fi and post apocalypse movie from 1936, based from a novel by H. G. Wells, it´s very underrated and ahead of it´s time.
Elijah Adams
Valley Forge was a good name for a spaceship I understood many years later.
Lincoln Russell
The Black Hole (1979) is a must-watch. And the first Star Trek movie basically fits the theme as well.
Benjamin Reed
Also the original Battlestar Galactica. That was huge for kids when it came on TV.
Landon Butler
>It awakens such an odd feeling in me. Because from the 60's to 80's people still had hope and were optimistic that we'd see the space age one day and that gave their kino levels of soul that are today unattainable due to the absolute state of current year.
Kayden Ross
Yeah, and Fantasy was pretty good too.
Anthony Brown
Also, realism wasn't as overrated as it is today. Instead, it was more speculative, exploring fun ideas, even if unrealistic ones.
Isaiah Jenkins
Onions Green
Liam Flores
The dream of the Space Age was fake, you know it to be true
Chase Jenkins
Is it a good movie? any similarity with Onions Green
Evan Phillips
>no Barbarella baka
Hudson Walker
I'd like to eat some green onion chips.
William Cook
Sup? Can't say s.oylent? the 2001 sequel, 2010, belongs on that list, it's pretty good
Cameron Powell
MST3K riffs a lot of movies with this feel first spaceship to venus the day time ended cave dwellers dozens more I can’t remember
Jayden Bailey
I find 2010 to be more boring than 2001. And I mean it. 2001 is so unique while 2010 being an ok but more standard sci fi, doesn't stand out as much. Also it's soiled by the 70s policy of detente
