I dont care what the artistic meaning or symbolism behind it is supposed to be or if its served as a way to denote scenes by timeline the previous seasons, it still doesnt change that its made the episodes less enjoyable on a fundamental technical level.

BB and Chuck-era BCS didnt have this "look im such an artiste!!" shit nearly as much and the pacing and presentation came out better for it.

Gould and Gilligan clearly got high on all the praise over time to the point where nobody stopped to think that maybe having your emotionally resonant more character-driven prequel show overwhelmingly in grayscale literally adds nothing after the first 20 minutes and at worst is just going to be needlessly jarring for many people who otherwise were big fans of the show and in my case preferred it to BB until this season
