honestly it was trying to cover too much, Gettysburg was 3 days, Gods and generals covers nearly 2 years but lacks focus on any theme just drifting from battle to battle with glimpses of the generals in-between, it's based on a book too
Gettysburg was written by Michael Shaara and Gods and Generals by his Son Jeff so different authors, I've not read gods and generals but his son's other civil war books are Kino so I'm not sure if it's a source material issue
