Unironically a wildly underrated filmmaker. His soundtracks and early work directing the CKY tapes would be widely praised as massively influential experimental art films if it wasn't for Jackass. At the very least Bam deserves to be recognized as a wildly successful distributor and aggregator of music, skateboarding and DIY video and in my opinion he revolutionized a film movement and changed American culture forever. The first exposure for most young Americans to Rammstein, MTV, G.G. Allin and Skateboard culture as a whole were through the work and many connected projects of Bam Margera and the scores he chose for his skateboard tapes. And love him or hate him for it he did sell a fuck ton of custom decks and change skateboarding culture. The things Bam popularized and pioneered could be seen in every mall in America before he was even 30. I knew so many kids that grabbed video cameras and filmed their friends hurting themselves or even adapting his Spike Jones on meth style skate videos.

Jackass has a larger than life legacy that spans 10 films, the main television show and 7 spin off shows. It’s artistic merit diminishing as the corporatization and L.A. bs takes over more and more but it is notable for the discussion of DIY experimental film and Bam's experimental influence that the highest rated and well received early episodes of the flagship TV shows are in fact from Bam’s CKY series and were played alongside the MTV produced content. CKY skits going toe to toe with produced content while being nothing more than Bam’s written, directed, filmed and edited in his home and backyard passion projects is impressive enough on it’s own but for them to be nationally broadcast and sought after is another feat entirely. Jackass and subsequent Knoxville and Tramaine productions feature less and less experimentation, documentary style interviews and skateboarding favoring polished skits and public pranks.

Even Minghags is a worthwhile watch and can go toe to toe with cult stuff in this vein like Freddy Got Fingered.

Seriously ignore my reddit spacing and go watch Landspeed presents: CKY. Truly rapid fire cinema.

the first 2 ckys were kino

Haggard wasn't too bad, also predicted the Garbage Juicer, something that's consistently tried on kickstarted 20 years later

I havent watched it since it came out

Come on it’s only decent if your 16 i admit I enjoyed but now ehh Dunn is dead and bam is completely a mess it would just be depressing to watch young and so full of life to where they are now

well put.

based

Earth Rocker bros I'm worried that Bam came off a weirdo on Steveo's podcast. Maybe Steveo edited in Bam bragging about how he got told off in rehab, to make him look foolish?

Bam earth rocks so hard that his kid came out of the womb with a solid buzz going

Could've made that skate park out of matchsticks by now.

>Hey Knoxville! *buries the axe*

>Underrated filmmaker because he sold a lot of trash to retards and enabled Big Corpo to sell even more trash

Now let's hear it about cineastic legacy of The Rock, who by your criteria is the most underrated actor of his generation.

That type of narrative wasn't anything new, Bam is like third generation doing it. People like Mizkif are the Bams of Zoomers. Just because a certain form of media distribution enables retards to come to the forefront doesn't mean they have any impact on cultural zeitgeist. Stop measuring worth via the power of the dollar.

>Rammstein
>Heavily featured in Lost Highway
>Bam popularized them five years after David Lynch, the man who changed Television forever chose them as the dominant force behind his most famous horror film
>Bam made kids buy video cameras and film themselves doing stupid shit, something that Spielberg's generation was doing in the late 50s

Can't wait until you find out about Roger Corman, a Z-tier movie director who made New Hollywood possible.

>tfw I'm 27 only for couple of more months

I need to write an earth rocking album fast and then off myself.
