The legendary HBO saga ended back in summer 2019, and there’s no doubt most fans were disappointed by the dud of an ending we got.

Well, Martin wants people to know he was pushed “out of the loop” as the show progressed by showrunners D.B. Weiss and David Benioff.

“By season 5 and 6, and certainly 7 and 8, I was pretty much out of the loop,” Martin told The New York Times. When asked by The NYT why Benioff and Weiss iced out the man responsible for creating “GoT,” he responded with, “I don’t know — you have to ask Dan and David.”

A rep for the two men didn’t give a comment to the Times.

For those of you who might not remember, there was serious outrage about the ending of “Game of Thrones.” Fans had invested nearly a decade of time into the series expecting some kind of epic conclusion. Instead, we got a mini-UN meeting, Bran became king, Arya became Dora the Explorer, Jon went north and Sansa became queen in the north. The only part of the conclusion that made sense was Sansa’s storyline.

The rest of it was laughably bad, and the backlash was immediate and brutal.

This scene, the culmination of the first tv original plotline where Yara Greyjoy sails from the Iron Isles to the Dreadfort to rescue Theon, sailing south all the way around Westeros because the Dreadfort is on the east coast. After months of travel, she gets there, finds Theon, he keeps saying he's not Theon and that he won't let her fool him. Then Ramsay shows up shirtless and fights off fully armed Ironborn to the point where they're forced to retreat, but Yara doesn't just conk her brother on the head and take him with her. No, she says, "My brother is dead" and fucking leaves. MONTHS of travel around the continent and she just leaves him because he threw a temper tantrum from all of the torturing Ramsay did to him. This was the fucking start of it all.

Around five or so minutes into the pilot when it became apparent that they rewrote the entire opening scene for literally no apparent reason. If that's not good enough, skip ahead a bit in the same episode to when they completely ruin Tyrion's character, also for no apparent reason.

Also, the cutting of Stoneheart. I already had some misgivings as to the shows future, but back then there was hope the books would be finished. But they probably won’t be until the new show is finished.

I really regret never seeing Emilia Clarke's pussy. Someone on set couldn't snap something and leak it? With as fast as AI upscaling and enhancement is progressing, even just a blurry picture might have done it.

The end of book 3 is so exciting and explosive. It should have been the point where GRRM decided to start constricting his story. He instead decided to go for big air so now the story isn't even near to the finish at book 5, where it could be close to wrapping it up.
