Recommend me some shows for my retired dad.
Thus far he liked Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, the Young Pope, Sharpe, Shameless (the US version), all of True Detective but the third season (skipped that a few episodes in), Sons of Anarchy, Vikings, Utopia (has watched both versions).
Didn't like Rome.

Sounds like he got filtered. Season 3 is the best season and it filters so many.
I got filtered too. To me it was just boring.
He also liked all of Fargo.

if he liked Sharpe, there's a good chance he'd enjoy Hornblower. bit more serious than Sharpe but it's pretty much the same show but on boats instead.

Thought it was boring too I believe. That first episode with the return to the family didn't make him want watch more.
Tell him to checkout Stephen Kings 11.22.63 with James Franco and Sarah Gadon. Absolutely kino.
