Salvation is simple: hear the gospel, believe the gospel, call out to God for salvation. Here is an overview of the gospel:
1. We are sinners. You and I have sinned against God. We have all lied at some point in our life. Sin is transgression of God's eternal law. We have all broke God's law.
2. Because of our sins we die a physical death. Our body eventually perishes.
3. When we die in our sins we go to a place called hell and the lake of fire. One sin is enough to land you there and we all deserve this. This is called the second death.
4. But though we are sinners deserving of death and eternal hell fire, God loved us and sent his son to be the atonement for our sins. Jesus laid down his life and took the punishment for us. He was crucified, buried and on the third day he rose from the dead.
5. The entire reason he did this is so we could live. By paying the price of eternal death, he can now give us the free gift of eternal life.
6. And we receive the free gift by hearing the gospel, believing the gospel and asking God to save us. We receive the free gift by faith.
7. And once you have received the free gift of eternal life, you will never lose it nor will it ever be taken away. Once you have received Christ you become a child of God and have passed from death unto life.
