This comically didnt have any payoff. This show turned hilarious after season 4.

i will agree that the show AND books peaked and began to decline at the same point of the story: the end of Season 4 and the end of storm of swords (though the show took a bigger decline obviously)
Stannis defeating the wildlings, arya leaving the hound and going to bravos, tyrion killing tywin and going to pentos. all those storylines would get worse and worse after that point. The books are still good but imo the last two aren't as good as the first few.

I feel the urge to repeatedly hit that belly with a hammer
