Gene is gone, all that persona he built to avoid getting caught was gone the moment he ended that phonecall with Kim, he's full on Slippin Jimmy/Saul Goodman combined, and only the worse part of those, it's been a while since he's been James Morgan McGill, and who knows if he'll ever come back to it, there's too much trauma and pain in that name and past
except we do know he turns back into Jimmy because Rhea Seehorn said so in a recent interview
