I read the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit as a child and really enjoyed them both. However, those two are the only works of Tolkien I have read. What other work/works of his would you recommend I read before pirating this show once it comes out?

The Silmarillion then Unfinished Tales.
These books are not written in the same way as the others though, so it may not be your thing. The Silmarillion is like a collection of stories in chronological order and is very mythic in nature

It's an old Welsh name, although barely heard of outside of Wales.
There is a character called Morfydd in the Arthurian legends.
