The monster of the week episodes are normally pretty good, with some weird exceptions like the cat one. Episodes that attach to the main "plot" start sucking at season 5.

You could get really in-depth with episode release order so you could swap between the spinoffs and X-Files in the order that the episodes aired since some seasons ran concurrently.
Though that's too much for me, I just marked which X-Files episodes function as Millennium and TLG finales.

The intro music is so comfy, and it tries so hard. It does get a little lighter, I recommend to at least make it to the end of season 2, they thought Season 2 was going to be the end of the series so they sort of wrapped things up. Season 3 is sort of a write off, Chris Carter came back and kind of fucked things up.
